Chris O’Brien, P.Eng, MBA

Born and raised in Newfoundland, I studied at Memorial University, University of Toronto, Carleton University and Athabasca University. Starting my career as a micro‑electronics engineer, I worked in both Canada and the United States and travelled the world engaging with clients to understand their needs and advance business opportunities.

With over 25 years’ experience, I have worked with organizations of all sizes - from government to private and non-profit. My expertise spans financial analysis, business modeling, technology development, business process development, project management, and research. My approach blends analytical, creative, and systems thinking and an understanding of process and human factors. Whether I’m improving processes, researching challenging strategic questions, or analyzing an investment opportunity, I focus on delivering clear, evidence-based advice, that serves your organization both today and for the long-term.

In 2015, I moved to Whitehorse with my wife, and together we have welcomed two boys and made the Yukon our family home. We feel blessed to live among the many gifts the Yukon offers – from it’s natural beauty to its people and economic opportunities. As a community board member and volunteer, I have been involved with Yukonstruct Society since my arrival and continue to support this and other organizations, such as Yukon Venture Angels. I am pursuing continuing education in mathematics and working toward a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation to deepen my analytical toolkit and expand the ways I support clients.
